Im just trying to figure out how i can/if i can add a remix (us vs them X let it all work out) onto spotify because i cant find it already produced on spotify so i was just wondering how that worked

If a song isn't available on Spotify and you still want to add it to a playlist, there are a couple of ways you can work around it, though they come with limitations:

If you have the song saved on your computer, you can add it as a local file in Spotify. Here's how:

On your desktop app, open Spotify and go to the settings (click on your profile picture > Settings). Scroll down and turn on the "Local Files" option. You may also need to add a folder where your local music is stored (e.g., your music library).

Once added, go to your Library, and you should see a "Local Files" section. Find the song(s) you want, then create a playlist and add them to it.

Local files will only play on your desktop, and if you sync the playlist to your phone, it’ll work only if you have the song saved on your phone as well.

hi i added some songs to my local files but when i try to add them to my playlist i cant, do you know how to solve this?

Hey @damianss2,

When you try to add them, do you get any error messages?

Anyway, to add a Song to a playlist, find the local song you want to add in the Local Files section. Then right-click the song and select Add to Playlist. Choose the playlist you want to add it to, or create a new playlist.

Also, if you want to listen to the local file on your mobile device, make sure you're logged into the same Spotify account on both your desktop and mobile apps, then add the local song to a playlist (as described above).

On your mobile device, download the playlist that contains the local files. Local files only sync to mobile if the playlist is downloaded. Ensure that your desktop and mobile are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during syncing.

Keep in mind that only certain file formats (e.g., MP3, M4P) are supported by Spotify. Protected files (like DRM-encrypted M4A files) won’t work.

It's Friday of my Birthday weekend and I was going to jam out to this album to start my day only to find that it is still not available after 6 years from the original post.

Aside from saying "On the other hand, new content is added to Spotify every day. If you can’t find something you’re looking for now, it may appear (or reappear) soon.

Meanwhile you can try to reach the artists through their social media channels!"

Maybe you could finally let people add music from their own library!

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

There are various ways to save files to your phone. Personally, I prefer to transfer music from my PC to my phone's storage either via USB cable or through a cloud service like Google Drive, iCloud and Dropbox.

Once I have the files saved on my phone, I make sure to turn on the 'Local files' feature in the app's settings and the voila - the songs are now synced to my local Spotify library so I can play them alongside the millions of tracks already available on the platform and even add them to my personal playlists.
