I got myself into a bit of a situation and looking for help.

Long time iTunes for Windows user and I have my entire library of MP3's on my PC. I had no issues until yesterday. I had to reinstall iTunes as the MS Store version wouldn't load. As a part of this upgrade, my iTunes library corrupted / was replaced and my playlists reset itself and the latest backup on the device takes me back to what it looked like a couple of years ago. I've looked at all of the restore options and it is what it is, I'm not willing to invest the amount of time required to reconfigure the changes I've made to the playlists over the last couple of years.

That said, I have the latest version of the playlist on my phone as it sync'ed recently. So what are my options to get back up and running again?
Is there a way to sync from my phone to Spotify and use this as my go-to music app?

Hey there, @FreddyDT,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

If I understood you correctly, you're trying to transfer an iTunes playlist to your Spotify library, is that it? If so, there isn't a direct way to do this through Spotify at the moment, I'm afraid, but you can check out this thread for some other ways on how to do that.

If you were referring to local files which are now missing from your PC but still saved on your iPhone, you can try syncing your music library by following this guide.

In case you meant something else, feel free to elaborate further 👍

Cheers!

My local files are in my ITunes library on Mac and iPhone and iPad

Plan

Premium

Country

Singapore

Device

iPhone 15 Pro

Operating System

iOS 26.1

My Question or Issue

I have a lot of music in my iTunes. Before I subscribed to Spotify, I sync my iTunes music library between my MacBook, iPhone and iPad, which I'm sure many Apple users are familiar with.

So I have my iTunes library in my MacBook, iPhone and iPad. How does Spotify's "local files" thing work in such a scenario?

I'm guessing the following. When I create a playlist on my iPhone and add local files that are already on my iPhone, everything plays (both local files and Spotify's).

Now, when Spotify syncs over the playlist from iPhone to iPad and MacBook, I understand that the local files that are on my iPhone are not synced over.

However, since I have the same iTunes library in MacBook, iPad and iPhone, won't Spotify on my MacBook and iPad look for my iTunes song from the iTunes library that is inside the MacBook and iPad?
