why does my local file only play in liked songs?

I uploaded some songs to my local files, but in the local files playlist they're all greyed out. In liked songs, however, it does let me play them. Once I try adding them to a playlist or to my queue it won't play.

What device are you using? Could you check if Local files are toggled in the app's settings? On the mobile app, the option is located under "Apps and devices". Also, make sure you've allowed Spotify to access your files and media there:

Android: go to your phone's settings > Apps > Spotify > Permissions.
iOS: go to Settings > Privacy & Security.

For desktop, make sure the correct source folder has been selected.

If the issue persists, try reuploading the songs by following the steps in this article. A screenshot which captures how things look on your end would also be greatly appreciated.
