&lt;P&gt;The playlist duration is calculated by combining the raw length of all songs in it. Could you elaborate more on what you mean by "gaps"? If you meant using Crossfade, it won't affect the duration of the playlist.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If you're on mobile and you have &lt;STRONG&gt;Gapless playback&lt;/STRONG&gt; toggled on in the app's settings, the feature would eliminate any gaps or pauses between tracks from the same album. This is built-in to the desktop app (but not in the &lt;A href="https://open.spotify.com/" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Web Player&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/A&gt;).&lt;/P&gt;
