New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

When I opened the spotify app this morning to download any new episodes from my favourite podcasts in My Library, I found a note where my New Episodes feed would be to say this was now not part of My Library and that I needed to go to Home to find new episodes. So now I have to scroll endlessly through my home page to find the banner new episodes of podcasts, and then I have to open each episode individually to then click again to get to download them. Then when I go back to the homepage it takes me back to the top again and I have to scroll down the page AGAIN to find new episodes and go through the process each time. It was a stupid change and I don't understand why you would make it so much harder for users than previously. How is this beneficial?

This is a rubbish change. I use new episodes daily. Why upset your customers’ routines? And it’s even worse on Apple CarPlay. Now the new episodes selection on CarPlay is not the same as new episodes under what’s new in the mobile app. This is very disconcerting.

thanks for the gaslighting but nope, this hasn't cleared things up. The change has made user experience worse, which will force me to source a different podcast app that is actually user friendly.

This is a terrible change. So now there is no longer a list of only new episodes? This is a massive downgrading user experience, especially when using CarPlay

After a resent update (android), I can no longer see the latest podcast realeases from creators I follow?

How do I get that list back?

It's not very functional to just see every podcast I follow, without having a list with new content.

Yes this is driving me nuts. It does still exist, but is harder to find and doesn't show your recently unfinished podcasts and you can't hide podcasts you don't want to listen to. Very frustrating, podcasts are getting lost in the mix and I'll probably just catch up on Audible for a while.

The "What's New" feed on Spotify doesn't automatically remove played episodes, which can clutter your feed and make it harder to track new content.

I didn't mark this as a solution. I don't know who did. There isn't a solution, unless you put back New Episodes. I checked in the archive and I see you tried to do this before in 2022. there was outcry and it was reinstated, because it was a stupid decision then, as it is now. Do you hate your customers? Because that is what it feels like.

Yeah, this is not a “simple” way. You remove it from out personalized pages and bury it in the profile. So instead of one button on the page I’m always on I now have to go to Home, then Profile, then What’s New then filter by Podcasts…….in no way does this make things simpler or increase fan/creator connection. You’ve made a simple process a pain in the rear

This update is not good. I LOVED having the list so I knew when new episodes came out. This new process is a mess!

wth is this nonsense. I have no idea what "following" is or where it is. Podcast subscriptions is not something that needed reinventing; People pick the shows they like, you give a list of released episodes in reverse chrono so people can stay up to date. WHY IS THAT HARD?

Following feed doesn’t serve the same purpose nor have the features of the new episodes playlist. It also causes me to have to scroll through suggested slop to find what I’m looking for. Bring back the option of the new episodes feed you dumb Swedish potatoes.

New podcasts folder has disapeared ?

I subscribe to podcast i want to follow, and until now i could find the new episodes i had to watch in a folder in the library : it has disapeared ! Why ?

It was something to improve but i used it all thé Time. It was like a todo list for me.

I would have loved to be able to have more folder and to type podcast to get a fun folder with new épisode to listen, a work folder, etc.

Anyway i'm so disapointed, if it's hiden Somewhere please tell me !

I could understand moving the tab and keeping the same interface and capabilities. But the Following Feed is an entirely different experience that has less features and ultimately makes it more difficult to keep up with new episodes.

People missing episodes = lower number of listeners per episode = reduced interest from advertisers = lower ad spend

Right?

so even on a corporate level, I feel this is a net negative

Hi all, Dessi,

The “New Episodes” feed was one of the main reasons I used Spotify, it makes it super easy to keep track of all my shows in one place.

To me, your "solution" (e.g. Following feed) is frustrating and time-consuming.

Judging by all the other comments, I’m definitely not the only one who feels this way.

Please bring it back the "New Episodes" feed!
