Japanese songs with Japanese vs English titles — what happens if I replace?

Hi, I’ve noticed many Japanese songs on Spotify show up twice — one with the Japanese title (like 唱) and another with the English/romanized title (Show by Ado).

Wonder what will happen if I already have the Japanese title version in my Liked Songs and playlists, but then remove it and replace it with the English one, will Spotify still count all my plays together for stats (like Wrapped), or will it treat them as different songs?

Just wondering if replacing makes any difference or not.

Thanks for reaching out. We'll gladly help you get the most out of the Spotify catalgoue.

When there are multiple versions of the same song, regardless of what the difference between them is, they are listed separately and thus considered separate songs. Therefore, things like listens for Wrapped or positions in playlists aren't carried over.
