My Question or Issue

It started today that Spotify wouldn't play searched songs. I can plan songs in my playlist fine, but as soon as I search up a specific song, it doesn't load, let alone play. If I click it enough times, it'll give me a bunch of ads and then never play the track. It does this withe every single song I search up. If I try to add a song to a playlist, it doesn't show up in my liked songs but will show up in the swiping 'reel' sort of feature at the top, not in the actual playlist.

I signed out and in twice on both devices, reinstalled it, did a clean reinstall, restarted my device, cleared data, cleared cache... is there a problem with the app? It doesn't work at all.

Attachment is sped up to 2x.

Thanks for reaching out!

We are always updating the free experience, and as part of that, you may notice a few changes. By the looks of things, it is possible that you have reached your allotted amount of on-demand playback after which you are only able to play in Shuffle mode.

Can you check if you are able to play any music by clicking on the green playback button at the top of your liked songs playlist? If all works as it should, the playlist should start playing in Shuffle mode.

Aside from this, we'd also like to know if you're receiving any error messages/ if you're seeing a redirect to Premium when e.g. you go to an Artist profile -> select the three dot menu of their profile -> select "Start a Jam". Let us know if selecting this Premium feature would redirect you or if it just wouldn't respond.

My Question or Issue

Since today I can’t choose specific songs anymore as a free user, even though the new Pick & Play / Search & Play features should allow this. Is this a bug, a limitation, or was the feature removed? Would appreciate some clarity.

It looks like they have limited this ability for free users. Really disappointing after that big announcement in September. It is very misleading.
