Library sync is slow between desktop and iOS apps

iOS 13.6.1, macOS Catalina 10.15.6, Windows 10 Pro v2004

My Question or Issue

This has been an issue for some time now. When I do library changes in one of the desktop apps the changes doesn't show in the iOS app until I manually close the app from the app switcher and open the app again. Maybe it would sync if I'd wait for a long time but it's just faster to restart the app (but it shouldn't require a restart of the app for every library change).

The sync used to be instantaneous but now it's slow and has been slow for quite some time (half a year at least I'd say).

Reinstallation of the iOS app and/or desktop apps doesn't help at all.

Desktop app version are 1.1.40. iOS currenly is 8.5.72 but the issue has been present over multiple version releases.

Does others have the same issue? Should it be escalated and investigated?
