Song availability keeps changing over time

My Question or Issue

Over the months different songs seem to become unavailable and then available again. For example now songs of artists such as Rodriguez, Tame Impala, Pete Townshend, The Who and Queens of the Stone Age are greyed out. I've played many of these songs quite regularly the past few months.

This has happened before. A year or so ago all songs by Rodriguez became unavailable and some time later they reappeared again. Is this a technical issue or is something else going on here? Is there a way to know why certain songs are unavailable? Any transparency from your part here?

I have set to display unavailable songs as grey in settings so I can see what's going on. Thanks!

Most often the reason why some content might not be available is for legal reasons.

Availability can vary over time and between countries, depending on the permissions from rights holders.

Spotify adds new content every day, so if you can’t find something you’re looking for right now, it may appear (or reappear) soon.

If you have these song in a supported format, you can add them as your Local File.
