It's broken on mine to, been that way for a few days now
Same for me. I'm doing the 30 day free trial of Premium. If this doesn't get resolved then I will cancel. It's the main reason I want Spotify Premium.

I've just given it a go - The search seems to be working just fine for me. Hopefully I'm not the only one! I'd recommend trying a little reinstallation - this might get things up and running again.
I emailed Support and they got back to me right away. They suggested the uninstall, then reinstall...and now it works! Give it a try!
The search isn't not working, it's just being extremely slow. Like, EXTREMELY slow.
Try logging out and back in. That usually always fixes it for me.
