About family plan

Hi, my uncle is about to start a family subscription with me, he will be the admin but he already has an active one year premium subscription and his billing cicle will end in about >5 months
Acoording to the Q&A thread he can switch to the family plan and not being charged until that 5 month premium subscription runs out... is that right??
Or it would be necessary to wait until his account became free to start the family plan??

Spoiler
When you upgrade your subscription from regular Premium to Premium for Family, any remaining time that you've already paid for will be converted into a Premium for Family subscription, so this can bring your next payment date forward. You can review your renewal date on the subscription page.

best regards

Hi there,

Since the Premium for Family costs more than the regular Premium, your uncle's subscription will adjust on the price difference.

For example, if you're uncle is in US, the regular Premium costs $9.99 and the Premium for Family costs $14.99.

So if he still have remaining 5 months (9.99 x 5) = then he technically had paid $49.95

Now let's divide that $49.95 by $14.99 (price of Premium for Family) = 3.33

So basically his subscription will end after 3 months and a couple of days.

Once he upgraded to Premium for Family, he can easily check that information on his subscription page.

Hi there,

Your uncle won't be charged right away. After upgrading to Premium for Family, his payment date will be pushed forward (though it will not be a total of 5 months).

Once he upgrade his subscription, he can check his subscription page and see his next payment date www.spotify.com/account/subscription

thanks for the response, but what you really mean when you say that the payment date wont be pushed forward a total of 5 months??

My uncle told me that his personal subscription ends March 16th... so he will be charged before that date?? please clarify

regards
