My Question or Issue

Today I got an message in the app to re-verify my email address. I discovered that my account was connected to my old email address so I want to change it. When I tried to change my email address it said the email address was already taken. I remembered I had an old account connected to my current email address so I went ahead and deleted my old account so my current email address would be "Free" again. To my surprise this didn't work and it still says that my the email is taken. 

How can I fix this problem?
