Account compromised and not even an email?

Solved!

Account compromised and not even an email?

I was logged out of Spotify on my phone today for the first time in two years. My usual  password didn't work so I had to reset it. After I reset the password, I log in to the account to see a bunch of new songs in a different language added to my library that weren't from me.

Can someone please explain to me why I did not receive any email notifying me that somebody logged into my account from god knows where, and that my password was changed? How could you not notify your user when something like this happens?

Hey, @jxu000 -

That's not cool! Looks like someone else is using your account; I suggest following the guide here as soon as possible: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/account_help/someone-has-gained-access-to-my-accoun...

After contacting Spotify, if you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and the support team will be able to help you out.

If you have any other questions, please reply 🙂
