Account hijacked

Account hijacked

Over the past couple months my account (I think my facebook) was hijacked and my Spotify was used extensively by unknowns. That being said, my recommended and recently listened have officially ruined my listening experience because of this. Is there any way to completely wipe out my past listenings? I don't even care at this point, I just want it reset. Also, because of this my "weekly discovery" Playlist thing is now in German for some reason. It's become so irritating that I'm almost tempted to cancel my service and just have my wife sign up instead.

The best course of action when something like that happens is to create a new account with a different email address from the one you're using (Tip: don't use the one you use for Facebook). That will give you a different Spotify username of your choice.

 

Once you have this new account, contact customer support and they'll help you migrate your Premium privileges, library, playlists, friends, etc. to this new account.

 

Connected devices stay with the old account, so you'll have a fresh start without them.

That also applies to your Discover Weekly history, which would have a fresh start as well.

That seems extremely excessive. If Spotify can take the time to transfer playlists, library, friends, subscription, payment info, etc, I don't see why they couldn't just clear my listening history - seems like an easier process for them. I like being connected to my Facebook friends and seeing what they're listening to. Creating a new account is far from a solution.

You can link this new account to your Facebook again, and keep using all the social features, but now you won't have to rely in the Facebook login process, since you'll have your very own Spotify username.

 

Your account will be more secure, since Facebook's login system is very unreliable at times.

 

As for your listening history, please kudo this idea and post there so they know people would like to have the option to reset their music profiles:
