Account made without my knowledge

Solved!

Account made without my knowledge

I woke up this morning to an email sent to one of my side emails to find a Spotify confirmation email in it, along with what appeared to be a Thai welcome screen?

I ended up changing my email password just in case but either way, I don't use that email for Spotify (nor am I that.)

Is there a way to make sure this account gets closed by Spotify? I would rather people not be using my email for things.

Hey HeadphoneCoffee,

i just wanted to give you a headsup that you probably don´t have to be too worried about your email account. But it was a good idea to change your password anyways. They mostlikely just used your email without your login. But be sure to not click on any of the links in the email! This could just be a scam to get you to login to your Spotify account.

Hello @HeadphoneCoffee welcome to the community,

Thanks for reaching out. We understand you want to close your Spotify account.

As a heads up, once you close your account, you won’t have access to any of the following:

  • Your username. It can’t be used with Spotify again.
  • Your playlists, followers, and everything saved in Your Library.

Your student discount (if you have one). You won’t be able to apply it to another account until 12-months have elapsed since you signed up for it.You can cancel your subscription without closing your account. This way, you can still listen to Spotify for free and keep all of the above.

If you’re sure you want to close it, just follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to close your account here.
  2. Note: Be sure to cancel any subscriptions first.
  3. Select Account.
  4. Select I want to close my Spotify account permanently.
  5. Continue through the steps.

We hope this helps!

Well, I don't have access to that account. Someone else made the account using my email. I don't want someone in Thailand using my spare email account for their purposes.
