Account questions

Account questions

I have a couple of questions regarding my account. My spotify account is based in the UK but I am currently living in the US. I don't want to change my account to US settings as I want the UK specific music, etc. I still pay my spotify account from my UK bank.

I tried to add my family member (who lives with me), but because we are in the US it would not allow me to add her. Is there any way around this?

So this brings me to my next question...I changed from Premium to Family premium...and then changed back to premium when I realised I could not add her. Can you confirm you won't charge me for this? I would like to go to Family, but there does not seem much point if I am not going to be allowed to add her while keeping my UK specific settings and payment options. Not finding this very flexible to be honest.

Hello @Gddavies! So long as you maintain a premium subscription your account will remain UK based indefinitely. If your subscription does lapse, you'll have a 14 day period before your account will need to be changed to a US to continue working. At that point if you intend on upgrading to premium you will require a US form of payment, and your account will remain US based, unless you return to the UK.

What type of account does your family member have? If their account is US based then unfortunately there will be no way to add them to a family plan, unless your account becomes US based, or theirs UK. My understanding is that if their account is UK based as well, you should be eligible for a Family Plan.

If you view your subscriptions page, how does it list your account? It should list the amount you will be charged for the upcoming billing cycle, and as long as it is the right amount (not the price for a family subscription), then you should be all set.

Hopefully I answered all of your questions. Please let me know if I missed anything, or if there's anything else I could help you with. Cheers!
