Add NUS card to existing Prime. (again)

Ok, so I've done the search. But this keeps coming up: "You need to cancel your current subscription first."

Why? The last time I did it I remember just adding the new card number.

Good question, are you sure you could do it like you mentioned last time? the NUS system is a completely separate entity to Spotify and so it's hard to "extend" your subscription with NUS, hence you need to cancel and resubscribe through the Student Discount system.
