I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but I thought I'd ask it just incase I truly wasn't aware.  I recently just signed up for a Spotify account & connected to our Google Home.  Now when my wife is using Google Home to play music it's using Spotify and her (Terrible) music is getting mixed up with mine on Spotify. I'm pretty sure that if I wanted to fix this & not have her stuff mixed with mine I'd have to upgrade to a family plan?  If that's the case I'll just live with it, she uses the Google Home maybe once a week, I just couldn't justify that cost.  Thanks!

Hi @MrBrightside_ and welcome to Spotify + the Community! 🙂
Yes, you're correct, a Family plan would keep your musical tastes/libraries separated if you wanted to listen at the same time.
One question though, is your wife using your same Spotify account or does she have a separate log in? If she has her own account, than her own music selections should not merge into your library regardless of subscription type.
