[All Platforms][Subscription] Adding a member who has premium account my family plan

I am a free member but thinking of upgrading to family plan. One family member already has a premium account which he purchased through iTunes. The FAQ for family plan says that one can add premium account holders but not those who bought premium through itunes.

So how do I add that family member to my family plan?

Yes you can add this family member but first this member needs to go to 

https://support.apple.com/HT202039 and cancel the Spotify Subscription through iTunes then this member will be eligible for the Family!

If they do this, will they lose all their playlists? Or will their account still be active but under the "free" subscription?
