Always charged £4.99 for premium service, changed card details, Spotify now requesting £9.99

Always charged £4.99 for premium service, changed card details, Spotify now requesting £9.99

Hello. 

I have been a service user for over three years, getting on board in the early days of Spotify and have always been charged £4.99.  In those three or so years, I have changed card details and simply updated my card and the subsciption continued as usual.  On this occasion, I entered my new card details on two separate occasions and they dd were not registered.  My premium account has now paused and I have entered the 'free' service of which I do not want. I have attempted once again to enter my new card details but I will now be charged £9.99.  I have not taken this up as I am sure it is a mistake somehow, is this an oversight?.  How can this be rectified?

This is odd. Have you tried contacting a Spotify member to check this for you via twitter, facebook or the contact form?

I have done this, maybe they are investigating but I am not sure.  I received an automated response to my request/problem/question which advised me to utilise the community and 'popular questions' function on their help page.  I do not know if this automated response is their answer or as previously mentioned, they might be investigating in the meantime though there is no indication that this might be the case.
