Am I allowed to play these songs in public?

Am I allowed to play these songs in public?

Dear people,

what are the existing rules on which song I am allowed to play in public in a country like Sweden? Different rules for other countries? If someone records the event, where the song is played, what is my legal responsibility here?

Let´s say I am a DJ, and also bought a song on vinyl. Can I play it then? For how many people? In what kind of setting is what allowed?

Where can I find information about rules, rights and regulations according this question?

Best!

Yes, different rules per country and/or legal regions like EU.

General rule (EU), you are only allowed to play music in public if you have the permission of the copyright owner or have a license.

Recording an event is also only legal if you have the permission or it's for private use only.

Royalties also vary regarding occasion, organization, audience.

STIM should be a good start for more information in Sweden because it's a copyright organization representing artists.
