Artists blocked without me actually blocking them

Artists blocked without me actually blocking them

Found some new artists and wanted to listen to them, but I got the error message:

"We can't play this until you allow this artist in the Spotify phone app."

I have never heard of the artists before, and definetely haven't blocked them, so thought I might just notify you of this. So far I have found 3 artists that were blocked.

Hey, @AFP1616
Welcome to Spotify Community and thanks for reaching out here!

You can unblock any artist any time, just going to the Artist page (Search for them) and tapping the button on the top on the page on the right side.

And considering that you didn't blocked the Artists, maybe you should consider that someone else taken over your account. In this case, I do recommend that you change your password.
Also, you can go to your account page and click SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE as well.
It's also strongly advised that you change the password for:

  • The email address associated with your Spotify account (e.g. with Gmail, Hotmail, etc.)
  • Any Facebook profile associated with your Spotify account. You can make sure you're the only one currently logged into your Facebook in your Facebook Settings, under Security and login > Where You’re Logged In.
  • Any service where you use the same password as Spotify.

And you can get more information about how to protect your account here.

If you have any other further questions or need more help, let me know! I'd love to help!

Best Regards,
hezorg
