Attempting to buy Premium using PayPal leads me back to the 'Upgrade' page

Attempting to buy Premium using PayPal leads me back to the 'Upgrade' page

Been trying to buy Premium using PayPal as payment method to no avail. I've been trying via mobile (both app and Chrome browser) and via desktop (Firefox, IE, Chrome).

What I'm trying to do:

After logging into my Spotify account, I go to the 'Upgrade' page, choose PayPal as payment method, tick the disclaimer agreement box, and click on the big green accept button.

This takes me to the PayPal page where put in my E-Mail and password. I agree/accept the payment and it takes me back to the Spotify 'Upgrade' page with no actual purchase made. No notification E-Mail from PayPal, nor an upgraded Premium Spotify account to be seen.

I am familiar with the payment transactions you do with PayPal and I also already bought Spotify Premium for another person using PayPal.

So I am really at a loss here as to what may be the problem. I am sure I am doing something wrong but I am not sure what exactly.

I have this issue, tried on many browsers to no avail. It's really annoying as it's blocking me from enjoying the service I want.

To pay for Spotify using PayPal, your PayPal account needs to be linked to a valid credit or debit card and be verified, as Spotify use the card information to verify your country.

Maybe that could be the problem.
