Billed twice in one month

Spotify gave me a notification that my payment method needed to be updated, and when I updated my account I was billed for the monthly payment on September 30. However, I was then charged again on October 3 for another monthly payment. I was under the assumption that the billing date would be the 30th, and I wouldn't be charged again for another month even though I had just updated my account at the end of the month. Was this correct, and am I getting charged this close together for a reason, or can this be refunded/resolved? Thanks!
