Buying a gift subscription for someone in another country

I would like to buy a subscription for myself, and I live in the US, and also buy one for my SO, who lives in Chile right now. Feel free to post if this is feasible.

Currently, my feasible solution is to buy $10+ iTunes gift cards and send them to my SO's illegitimate US AppleID, where they don't actually verify his address before granting him a month or more of service on the account which he then accesses without any sort of proxy service.

I have no qualms about cheating filthy international customs laws that were clearly only invented to inconvenience people like me, so why can't a giant corporation step up to bat? Clearly, we need a music service that is run by a non-country entity that is armed to the teeth with nukes and ready to destroy any country that doesn't cooperate with them....

Well, that degenerated quickly. But clearly, I want a legitimate solution to buying a foreign entity some tunes with my US bucks, and I don't care if I have to pay the export duties to get away with it. Giving him the money is not an option, as he lacks the income to secure a credit card, and clearly, PayPal is unwanted in Chile, since there is no official avenue to transfer money in and out of Chilean banks, of which there are a multitude of competing and incompatible standards for money transfer as well.

Up until recently, it was possible to subscribe to Premium via iTunes. But doing so required an additional charge on top of the standard rate. So, Spotify decided to cut out the middleman by discontinuing iTunes subscriptions. I don't think it's possible to purchase Premium for an account in a country where Spotify is not available right now - Hopefully Spotify will be available in your country in the future.

Spotify is definitely availabie in Chile, where the only payment options are Visa or MasterCard credit cards.

Oops, sorry about that. Since Gift Cards are currently not available in Chile, you'd have to use one of the supported payment methods. 😞

Even if gift cards were available in Chile, there is a policy in place restricting them to use in the same country as they are purchased in, and I would have to purchase them here in the US.

Right, gift cards can only be redeemed in the country they're purchased in.
