Can I get the free trial and when it ends pay for 6 months instead of paying monthly?

I'm new, never had an account before. I want to try Premium for free but instead of having to pay the monthly subscription let's say I want to pay for 6 months or a year. Is that an option with the free trial? Or is it just a free and then I have to get the subscription?

You can't select the trial period as they come as promos from Spotify to certain users.

But you have the option to pay for as many months in advance up to one year when you try to subscribe. You can learn more here.
