Can i buy a premium e card for someone in a country not listed in the selection?

I want to buy a card for a friend who lives in a country that is not available in the selections when i go to buy an e-card for a 3 month premium account. If i buy it for the UK, and they use a VPN to connect to a server in the UK will they be able to redeem and use the account then?

Technically probably yes, since country on Spotify is determined by IP address however be aware that using using Spotify whilst not being a resident in a country where it available is against the EULA.
