Can't change country settings because can't change payment settings - Help please

Can't change country settings because can't change payment settings - Help please

I was living in Australia.

 

I upgraded to Premium.

 

Now I've moved to the UK.

 

I closed my Australian bank account, and therefore the card I was using to pay my subscriptoin doesn't exist.

 

So I downgraded to Free until I can get a bank card sorted here but my expired Australian card details are still attached to the account.

 

My Spotify account now won't work in the UK because it's been more than 14 days abroad, and it wants me to change my country settings. (See picture 1)

 

But it won't let me change my country settings without changing my payment settings.  (See picture 2)

 

I have no bank card to change my settings to and won't for a while, so now I'm stuck in a dead end loop.

 

When I click on the link to update my card payment settings, it gives me the option of Free or Premium.  (See picture 3)

 

If I click on Free, it wants me to download Spotify.  I alread have it on my Mac.  I redownloaded it anyway, but it still won't let me sign in.  (See picture 4)

 

If I select Premium, it wants card details. (See picture 5)

 

At the bottom of this page, there is a link for other payment methods.  (See picture 6)

 

If I click on ' Change country', I can click on the UK flag.  (See picture 7)

 

If I click on the UK flag, it brings me to the sign in page.  (See picture 😎

 

If I sign in, it brings me back to the payment page, but this time, in pounds, not AUD. (See picture 9)

 

 

 

How can I change my country settings and continue to access my account on the Free service in the UK without using a bank card (which I don't have at the moment.)

 

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

We have some issues with changing to another country. Please get in touch with Spotify and include:

  • Your username/e-mail address
  • The browser where you had this issue

You may get in touch with Spotify via their Twitter page (@SpotifyCares), or by following this link (you won't have to login with this link) to send an e-mail.
If you send an e-mail, please check your inbox (and spam box) to check for their automatic reply. Once you get it, please reply to it immediatly (even if it's from an no-reply e-mail addres) to make sure an Spotify employee will get back to you as soon as possible.

It is not working! System do not letting user to update Credit card number !!!

Hi there,

 

The reason you're not able to update your payment details is because since you've downgraded to Free, you can only use Spotify for 14 days abroad.

 

Since you mentioned that you've now permanently moved to UK, then I'd suggest you to contact Spotify directly through their Contact form, so they can update your country settings from their end.

 

You may also want to reach them through their twitter account at  @SpotifyCares.

 

I'm sure they'll be happy to assist you there 🙂
