Can't change my account name.

My Question or Issue

My spotify username is "69v037tgkg4t49sivfle74s7o"
When i created my account it asked me what my username should be. I find it very frustrating that i was asked that if, according to this forum, i can't even choose my own name. 
"We know that but your friends can find you if they look for your name when you are linked to facebook."
I don't have a facebook account and i do not intend to make one just to change my nickname. Please change my nickname.. 
I really don't like paying 10 euro's a month for this name..

If you don't want to use facebook it's not possible I think.

You could choose to create a new account. You will be asked for your name, this will be the name you will see in spotify instead of the weird username.

So if you create a new account, this will be a free account. First check if everything looks like ok. Now stop your premium for your old account and make your new account the premium one.

To be sure the accounts don't get mixed up you should use a different email address.

Next you have to move your favourite songs and playlists to the new account.

I did that and now i'm stuck with the weird one..

I had a FB linked account that was premium but deleted it and made the new account premium. While creating the new account it asked me what my username should be but it completely ignored that and chose the weird one instead..

My advice would be to first create a free account which looks ok. Next make this one premium.

I tried your scenarios. I created a new test outlook account, signed up and had the same issue. I signed up using the spotify mobile app.

Since this didn't work, I suspected the app tries to do something smart and mixed things up.

Next I signup via the website with a new outlook account. Now it worked as expected.

I agree this is more complicated than in should be.

Maybe you can try the same. Hopefully you can also use another email address, otherwise it will try to link things which will not give you the desired result.
