Can't change my profile or country. Signed up long ago with Facebook.

Can't change my profile or country. Signed up long ago with Facebook.

Plan: Premium Family (being invited in but failing acceptance by address)
Devices: iPhone XR/10 and MACOS (Chrome browser)

My wife signed up for a family plan and is in Canada. My account profile shows an EMPTY profile/credentials but Country set to USA. I CANNOT submit the form because I need to provide credentials in order to save Country. I cannot enter credentials because it says my email address is already taken (which is me already logged in). My account was linked to Facebook at some point, but I log in with a unique password to Spotify.

How can I update my profile to use my current login credentials and update my country?

Is an option to Close my account and register/reopen using my same email address?

We're aware of issues with Facebook created accounts.

 

We'd recommend that you try changing your e-mail address to another one by following the steps here.


If that doesn't work, we'd suggest that you get in touch with our Customer Support team via one of the channels here about this. They should be able to take a closer look into the matter and help you with your request.


Regarding your follow up question - yes, you can start fresh with a new account, however, if you want to use the same email address - it will take time for the email to become available again after you close your current account.

I needed to work with multiple levels of application support to get added to the subscription.  The problem with updating my profile was NOT solved.  There was definitely a usability problem with the form that allows you to change country (i.e. you need to input email address and password and it complains the email address is already taken, which was the very user trying to make the change).  So hopefully that is a UI/API logic bug that gets fixed or a change in flow.
