I can't find my confirmation email and I've looked in the junk folder. I signed up for a free trial but it won't let me download music as its saying I'm not premium.

Let's make sure you don't have multiple Spotify accounts following these steps. You might have added the trial to the wrong account.
If you don't have other Spotify accounts, but you still can't use the Premium benefits, it's best to try reinstalling the app before trying again.
