Can't get spotify premium- payment problems

I recently purchased spotify unlimited, but it was not what I was looking for, so I canceled my subscription. After further consideration, I decided that I wanted to buy spotify premium. I tried to upgrade, but I was unable to because I had no payment methods on my account. I logged into my paypal and added it as a payment method. it said it was successful, but after going back to my profile it still said that I had no payment methods on my account. I tried it again several times, even logging out and in of my account and closing and opening spotify and the internet. Please help!
