My Question or Issue

I keep getting the error message "Sorry, we couldn't load friends to follow" every time I click the "Find Friends" button in the desktop version of Spotify. I've tried reinstalling the application, logging in with my Spotify credentials (not with Facebook login) and checking Settings to make sure my account is connected to Facebook. Those attempts have failed.

I've also tried to use the "Find Friends" function on the Spotify mobile app, but every time I click "Connect Facebook," I'm brought to the log-in/permissions page and then redirected to the same "Connect Facebook" page -- it's an endless loop.

I've even gone onto the Facebook app and the desktop Facebook website to check my Apps page and ensure that Spotify is connected and that my friends list is shared. Removing the Spotify app and then reconnecting it to Facebook through both the Spotify mobile app and the desktop version of Spotify hasn't worked.

Thanks for the link! Going to the Spotify website, heading to "Privacy
settings" and then switching on "Process my Facebook data" under the
"Facebook data" section did the trick. Thanks again for your help! 🙂

Same issue. The solution proposed (to check 'Process my Facebook data') did not fix it.

Hey @nvarvind01,

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community 🙂

Can you restart the device and then log out and log back in again? If that doesn't help, you can try resyncing the Facebook connection with the steps below:

  1. On desktop, go here.
  2. Select Apps and websites in the left hand column.
  3. Find Spotify and click View and edit.
  4. Tip: If you don't see it, check the Expired tab.
  5. The Spotify app settings pop up. Select Remove App at the bottom of this pop up, then Remove to confirm.
  6. Log in to Spotify and reconnect to Facebook in Settings.
  7. You’ll receive a message requesting access. Select Okay.

Keep us in the loop! If you have questions, you know where to find us.
