Can't login

About a week ago the desktop app automatically signed me out, and I had to reset my password for some reason? After that all was fine until yesterday, the same thing happens again. Except this time I'm told "Email or username isn't linked to a Spotify account" so I try making a new account, only to be told "This address is already linked to an existing account. To continue, log in."

I am blocked out of Spotify.  As an 8 year paid up subscriber you have wasted my evening and apple play is looking better

any updates with this? mine did the same thing today. of coarse chat support could not tell me any info after trying with 5 different chat reps. they just say they cant give me any info and abruptly close the chat
