My Question or Issue

In Advance Settings, set storage location to an existing Dropbox folder accessed by another device. No complaint from UI. "Restart required" message. Restart. Storage location has been set to original default under AppData?

Where is the issue here? Can't have two devices sharing a storage location? Or some other known issue.

Thanks

Hi @handelhoven

It is not possible to share storage between devices. Spotify's files are encrypted and can be used only on the device they originate from.

If you have any additional questions let me know.

Have a great day.

Ah yes. I understand. This would open the storage to copyright abuse. Quite right. Thank you for the response.

Ok. At first I thought I understood why -- copyright. But why not tag the storage with some function of account number -- or some other suitable ID so that users can share their storage between devices.
