[Canada] Can I get a Google Home mini if I'm on a Premium for Family or Student discount?

My Question or Issue

Why is the family plan excluded from the offer?  Only the base premium plan gets the Google home mini? That is complete BS.  Every other Country the family plan was eligible

You'll still be under the family plan for whatever time you had left, so be
careful!

I have the regular premium...still cant get the google home...

The Spotify + Google Home Mini bundle is available for United Kingdom, France and now in Canada, but note that in the last one, it's just available for the current and new Regular Premium users. In UK and France the bundle is destined for Premium for Family.

 

Signup process:

  1. Rgisterf forthe offer:
    1. New users automatically register when they sign up for Premium.
    2. Existing customers need to register at spotify.com/googlehome/register
  2. Spotify emails you with an unique link to claim the device
    But you can go to spotify.com/googlehome/redeem if you don't get the email. This will automatically apply your token
  3. Follow the link to the Google Store checkout
    Note: Your Google account must support purchases to complete the order
  4. Log into Spotify so we can check the user is a Regular Premium owner
  5. Select color of the device and click ‘Buy’

Thank you. To clarify, I am an existing Premium member in Canada. Do I
qualify? I have tried to register several times and receive a message
saying I do not.

I'm confused with "Customer needs to log into Spotify so we can check the user is a Premium for Family owner"

I have a Premium for Family account but when I try and follow the links it says I'm not eligable and that I need to sign up for a Premium account

FYI....the "redeem" link you refer to in your response, takes one to a page to register for a "Premium Family" account which is not eligible for this offer.

The availability of the bundle is based on that:

  • We will offer a free Google Home Mini device to new and existing Premium owners.
  • The free device is available for customers who register for the bundle.
  • Customers can register for the device while on a 30-day trial or when starting it, but will not be able to redeem the device until they have made their first payment.
  • We shouldn't encourage users on other plans to switch to different plans to redeem the offer. As the offer is only available for a month, they may not pay for Premium in time to be eligible to redeem the offer.

If even following all requirements above, you still getting in trouble, please contact the Customer Support to gain a troubleshoot.

Me too, I don't want to sign up for another premium account When I am already paying more for the family account.

Spotify, please open this up to Canadian Premium Family subscribers. 

If I am currently under the student premium plan, can I cancel then resubscribe to the full plan to redeem the google home mini offer?

 

This is ridiculous. I have been a premium member for almost 2
years....Spotify has definitely received my "first" payment. Since I am
already a registered user, what "bundle" am I expected to register for?
Another premium account?

This is not only confusing, it's very frustrating. The time I have spent in
the past 2 days dealing with this is worth more than the Google
device.....I give up. There are lots of music services out there to choose
from...clearly Spotify is focused on obtaining mass new registrations...not
offering their existing customers a loyalty bonus.

I wish there was a dislike button for this post. Sorry! But it's nice to know Spotify only values their "Regular Premium" subscribers and not their Family Premium subscribers.

I don't encourage you to switch to different plans to redeem the offer. As the offer is only available for a month, they may not pay for Premium in time to be eligible to redeem the offer.

As I said, new and current Regular Premium users can claim the bundle. But if for any inconveniences you are in trouble when you tryna get the offer, you should be in touch with the Customer Support to obtain help.

I do not need more information. I am a regular Premium member in Canada. I
have paid for my subscription for 2 years. I would like to receive a free
Google Home mini as has been advertised. The links on your website do not
allow me to register for this promotion.

Please send me a link, as you referred in a previous post, that will allow
me to receive the Google device. OR, better yet, please send me the device
directly.

Is that sufficient information for you?

Please resend the correct link for me, a regular Premium member with a
current (ie PAID) membership.

I also tried that. I switched to the premium sub and it still said ineligible, I think becuase it doesn't get renewed until... get this.... May 9th (which is exactly when the offer ends) What are the odds?
