Cancelling account

Hello.
I deactivated my account roughly 3 months ago however I have just realised that £9.99 payments are still going out. According to my profile though I am on the free service.
First how do I stop these payments being taken and secondly how do I recover the money that has been wrongly taken?

Hey, thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!
The first thing to do is check your email for a Confirmation Email. Each user receives one after cancelling their Spotify subscription. Do you have yours?

Hi.
Just checked my emails and never received anything on cancelling. However my account is saying free service and the money is going out each month.

Then you'd better use the contact form (https://support.spotify.com/contact-spotify-support/?contact) so that a Spotify staff member can see into your issue. You simply follow the right steps till you see a bright green "I still need help" button, press that and fill your info. If you receive an automated reply directing you back to the help pages, reply to it even if it's a no-reply.
