Cannot change country or payment type

Cannot change country or payment type

I used to live in Hong Kong, and was where I was when I Spotify account was set up. I have since moved to Australia and my HK payment method/card has expired. I will soon be moving to USA.
I have tried adding an Australian payment method and changing countries, I have also tried adding an American payment method and changing countries- both ways it doesn’t do anything, and just brings me back to a Hong Kong home page. My premium membership is no longer working, but I can’t do anything to update it. Incredibly frustrating- wondered if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks for reaching out.

 

In this case, you'll need to cancel your current subscription and wait for it to end. Once it has ended, you can change your country setting through the dropdown menu here.

 

Once that's done, you can subscribe to your desired plan using your payment method that's been issued in the country you're currently in at https://spotify.com/premium. Please keep in mind that you'll need to invite all members of the Premium Family plan again.

 

Instructions on how to cancel and how that affects your account can be found at https://support.spotify.com/article/cancel-premium/.
