Cannot connect Facebook to Spotify

using Windows 7.  Cannot connect FB to Spotify. Blue button CONNECT TO FACEBOOK does nothing. Spotify is shown on FB as 'an active app.'  I could still see all FB friends on the right nav, too. So I unfollowed there, it gives me a "follow friends on FB" button..that one doesn't work, either. Uninstalled, reinstalled. No change. The main log in page will let me log into Spotify by clicking the LOG IN WITH FACEBOOK button. So what is the story?

Try using this link.

In there you'll find "Connect my account to Facebook'.

If you still can't do it, try with a different browser, or open a private window (incognito mode), and see if that does it.

Also, try in a different device (computer, tablet, etc.)

none of those things work;  desktop program should not be affected by the browser.

That link does not have a connect to facebook button, and the one in the app continues to not work. I would like to be able to find my facebook friends, so this is rather irritating.
