Cannot join a spotify family, although my premium 3 month has ended.

My three month spotify premium has ended, yet i am unable to join my spotify family. I have read on a board somewhere that the staff have to switch my account to free(?) again even though it's ended? Because it says that i am unable to join the spotify family as i am apparently still spotify premium. Has anyone gotten this problem before?

EDIT: So apparently Canada doesn't have Spotify Family yet. bummer.

Scoured the forums for good news - only to find a couple posts by Spotify moderators that it went exclusive to Rogers customers... Why? Finally a Family plan in Canada, but I'd have to be a Rogers customer? I just happen to be satisfied with my current provider. This is unfortunate, to say the least. This is no longer an affordable solution (especially with other services now offering better options - for the family, my combined internet and cable bill would be cheaper), and to only do this to Canadians... 😞
