Cannot upgrade to premium with current Spotify account

Solved!

Cannot upgrade to premium with current Spotify account

I wanted to upgrade to premium, and so it launched from the Mac app to the website and I processed it using paypal as my payment option. When I went back into the Mac app and relaunched it, it wasn't showing as premium. It wasn't until I got a email with my receipt for setting up premium that it was to the email address of an old account I use to have that I never used. So I have since cancelled the premium subscription on the old account and have am now attempting to upgrade my current account to premium, but paypal is not accepting the request and just keeps pushing me back to Spotify and I cannot upgrade my account. I only wish to be charged via paypal, but it seems like paypal might seem to think I am being charged twice or something and is preventing me associated my paypal account to my correct Spotify account. What can I do to resolve this?

Hey @djkamron,

From my experience, paypal may be used to pay just one Spotify account, so it's possible it got linked to your old account with the first payment you made, even if that payment was cancelled afterwards.

You should fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be happy to help you within 24 hrs. Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.

If you get an automated email directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you.
