I think I might be able to help you troubleshoot the problem. When you signed up for Spotify did you create your own Spotify username? Or did you sign up through Facebook?
Okay, if the confirmation email gave you that username then your account was most likely created directly on Spotify and not through Facebook. So, when you try to reset your password, you don't receive an email to any of the email addresses you have access to? Sometimes it sends to an old email address that you may not check as often. It should be sending to the same account that got the Premium receipt, but it is possible that you changed your email at some point. Let me know if you still can't find the reset email in any of your inbox/spam folders.
Hmm, that is quite odd, what you should probably do now is contact Spotify customer support. If you provide them with enough information, they should be able to help sort out your issue.
You can get in touch via Facebook or Twitter at SpotifyCares and see if they can lend a hand.
You can also get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they can take a look under the hood.
If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if it's from no-reply!) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.
