Change Country with prepaid premium account

Change Country with prepaid premium account

 

(iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy 9, Macbook Pro late 2016)

Operating System

(iOS 10, Android Oreo, Windows 10,etc.)

Plan

Premium

Country

Is brasil, should be germany

 

My Question or Issue

I do have premium individual Prepaid but my Country is wrongly Brasil.

System sais changing is Not possible due to active prepaid Plan. How can I change my country? Cannot be true that I have to wait until prepaid Phase ends to change it and possibly change to a new subscription.

 

Would be Great if you could lead me on how to change my country. Changing to another plan i.e. Family is okay with me if it helps.

I would recommend following the steps in this article, may I ask when you mention that your plan is prepaid, did you use a gift card or is this paid for via your credit card?

unfortunately I am not able to change my country as stated beforehand as long as I do have an ongoing prepaid subscription.

 

Du bist für dieses Abo leider nicht berechtigt. Du kannst das Land nicht ändern, bis dein Prepaid-Abo abgelaufen ist.

 

Above the german message. Thus said I am not able to use a credit card to change to a non prepaid subscription as I do not have a social security number needed. That is why I used Premium 6 month keys (different from gift card?) in the first place.

Hey, @cueoriginal!

 

The only thing I can suggest is once the account has returned to the Free plan, subscribe to a Premium plan with a payment method from the country you're in, once this is done, the account will be set to your country. This isn't possible to do whilst a Premium account is active.

I am wondering wether this community is the only support option Spotify offers their paying customers?

My Premium account drops back into free in the beginning of december 2026 which is more than a year!

I am willing to pay for family and a plus would be to change my accounts country simultaneously.

 

Unfortunately I do not have a credit card and social security number needed to at least migrate to a family subscription. That is why I used Premium keys in the first place.

 

I am able to guess why Spotify behaves like this and do understand the intend but restricting paying customers is from my point of view unbelievable user unfriendly.

 

That said Spotify forces me to wait for over a year or create a new account and say goodbye to already paid money?

Any ideas on how to contact Spotify Support on this one?

Seems ridiculous to me if this is not possible for paying customers.
