My Question or Issue

 

Hi, I'm trying to change the email on my account to another email of mine but it keeps saying that the email is already being used by another account. However, I deleted the other account that it was tied to so I'm wondering why won't it let me change it on my active account?

 

Does it need a little while to process that the other account has been deleted?

Hi @IrmaGerd,

 

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

 

After you delete a Spotify account, the email can take between 14 to 30 days to clear from the system and become available to use on another account. 

 

If you'd like to use that email immediately, you can reactivate your closed account within 7 days (via the link sent to your email after closing it). Then, access the account and change its email to a different one; this way, the email address will be freed up right away.
