I have the family account, but my wife has her user account under the family account. She wants to use Spotify for listening to books on the app, but she does not have access to the 15 hours provided, as the hours are saved for my account. I don't listen to books, so I don't want it for the hours, and I don't want to pay for the upgrade for her account. She wants to quit Spotify and switch to an app that allows her to listen to books. Does anyone know how to make her account the primary account so she can listen to books? Or any I better off leaving spotify.

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

Unfortunately, at the moment there isn’t a way to change whose Spotify account is assigned to be the plan manager of a Premium Family plan, such that they have access to the 15 hours of audiobook listening time each month.

However, as the current plan manager, you can cancel the existing Premium Family plan, and then your wife can start a new Premium Family plan as the new plan manager.

You can cancel the existing Premium Family plan by following these steps:

1. Go to your account page
2. Select Cancel plan, under Your plan at the top of the screen, or under Manage your plan
3. Continue through to the confirmation message

At your next billing date, the accounts of each member of the current Premium Family plan will switch to the free service. At that time, your wife can start the new Premium Family plan here as the new plan manager, and then invite the other members by following these steps.

No worries, changing subscription plans won’t cause anyone to lose their playlists or saved music, and everyone can keep their same Spotify accounts.

Bear in mind that to accept the invites, members must live at the same address as the plan manager. Also note that members can only switch between Premium Family or Premium Duo plans once in 12 months.

ich bin im Family plan premium der Hauptnutzer. Der Hauptnutzer erhält extra Hörbuchstunden. Die brauche ich nicht. Meine Frau braucht die Hörbuchstunden. Sie will Hauptnutzerin werden. Wie kann ich das umstellen?
