Change username

Hi is there a support email which I can reach Spotify? I don't have Twitter and would like to change my username. Reason is that this email address(mine) was already registered with Spotify prior to my own usage of the service. I wanted to use my email for Spotify so I just reset the password and have paid for premium service. However the username isn't mine and I really want it to be changed. I think it's a fair request considering I never had the option to use a username that relates to me.

Thanks for reaching out.

If you want a profile that displays a different name, you can create a new account. During sign up, you can create any profile name you'd like.

You can close your current account at https://support.spotify.com/close-account/ 🙂

So close the account will free the email? Maybe I should have done that
first. How about my premium plan? Should I wait for the end of a billing
month before closing?

That's correct. Your email address will be available for use with another account as soon as you close the existing account associated with it.

You'll only be able to close your account after you've canceled your subscription.
