Changed facebook Password, can't use spotify at all

okay so some time ago, I changed my facebook password because an exgf had been using it and I didn't want her to have access to it anymore.

So from that point on, I could log in on spotify, but I'd get an error 401.  Sometimes, it'd let me play music. Othertimes, it wouldn't.  I quit using spotify because this is the dumbest thing, ever.  I can't even change my password on spotify. 

I recently tried to uninstall and reinstall spotify, but now I can't even log in AT ALL with either my old FB password or my new one.  

Should I just start paying for another music service?

It sounds like your Facebook has become detached from your real Spotify account. When you first registered for Spotify, I suspect you might have set up a dedicated Spotify account with a unique Spotify username. Since you changed your Facebook password, your Facebook login details will no longer point to that account. 

If you know what that username is, log in using your Spotify username and password. If not get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they can lend a hand getting back to your account. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi dinkjp,

Your account looks OK from our end.  Could you please try clicking on a track at www.facebook.com/music?  That forces Spotify to open and should get your account to accept the new login details.  You will then be able to login as normal.

I was having the same problem! So I clicked on the link, found a play button. Then, spotify reoppened and asked me to login.

Used the new email and password and now I'm logged back in! Yay 😄 so glad!
