Changing country does not work. I am travelling, can I upgrade?

I am currently travelling and using a free spotify account. I have used my 14 free days abroad and am now locked out of my account. I tried all the suggested steps to resolve this problem without any luck. When I log into my account to change the country settings the only country I can choose is Australia. I have checked my IP address and that indeed is listed as Thailand. I would like to upgrade to a premium account but I have read about so many problems occuring when travelling that I am a bit sceptic and think maybe I should wait for another 2 months and just not use Spotify. I am from the Netherlands and could pay for my premium account with a Dutch creditcard but would have to be very sure I can use it in different countries. Can anyone help me out?

Same problem here! I can't change country from Philippines to Japan. There's nothing wrong with my IP address so, I don't know how to fix anymore.

I think I might have found the problem. Spotify is not available in Thailand and I dont think it is in Japan either. I tried manually changing my IP address with an IP-modifier and that worked. The country I changed my IP address to is listed after this trick. Guess I just can't use Spotify for a while. Unless I can upgrade to Premium without any problems.

It is now available here. They launched it here just yesterday. Do you think the problem lies here still?
