Changing my Spotify account

Solved!

Changing my Spotify account

Hi,

I already have a Spotify premium account. I love it and don't want to lose my playlists and library (mostly saved offline).

My next mobile provider offers Spotify premium for free for six months but I will need to create a new Spotify account. I want to take advantage of the free offer.

I intend to use my existing mobile device with my new service provider.

My question is...if I cancel my existing Spotify premium account and then create a new account with my new mobile provider, will my current playlists be preserved on my laptop and existing mobile device?

Thanks for your advice...

Hey @Yrema!

To answer your question: As long as you have Premium your playlists can be saved offline, but once you cancel your subscription you will only be able to listen to your playlists online. This means that the playlist will no longer be saved on the device itself. And even when you do have an offline playlist you can only open it with your old account. In short: Your playlists are on your account, so you would not be able to access them from your new account.

So how do you transfer your playlists? First, create your new Spotify account with your new provider. Once that's done, ask support here to manually transfer your playlists to your new account and cancel Premium on your old one.

Tell me if this works for you!
