Charged £29.99 by mistake.

Charged £29.99 by mistake.

I pay £9.99 each month for Spotify Premium but I have noticed a single transaction for £29.99 on my bank statement which has been taken by Spotify. I have checked my receipts in my Spotify account and this £29.99 is not shown.

I have also not signed up for a Family subscription which would be £29.99.

How can I get this money back from Spotify? I have used the contact form but have only had an automated reply.

Hey @elgdk77,

I'm sure we can help figure out what's happened here.

First of all, did those payments come out of your account on the same day? If so you probably just hit the upgrade button more than once (and both payments were credited to your account). You can double check this by going to your Subscription Page and confirming your next payment date is more than 1 month away.

I managed to contact Spotify directly. I provided them with a transaction ID from my bank statement. They did a search and found another user had used my card details. They've refunded the money and blocked this user... I have no idea how they managed to get my card details but there has been no other fraudulant activity on my account. Very strange.
